Job Title: Controller Job Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting department and the financial functions and success of the company by performing various critical duties.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting team and oversee all accounting and finance functions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.

• Guide financial decisions and uphold the financial success of the company by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

• Partner with executive leadership to support financial planning, organizational growth initiatives, and long-range business objectives.

• Safeguard assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

• Provide leadership with timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis by collecting, interpreting, and communicating key financial and operational data.

• Prepare financial statements and develop and monitor performance metrics.

• Maintain management information reports and tools, including financial statements, daily or weekly cash reporting, and bank-related reporting.

• Prepare required documentation for external audits and serve as the primary liaison with auditors.

• Ensure compliance with applicable GAAP, federal, state, and local financial reporting, tax, and regulatory requirements; consult with outside advisors as necessary.

• Stay updated on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.

• Complete the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.

• Maintain an energetic, knowledgeable, outgoing, and interested demeanor when dealing with customers in person or over the phone.

• Take direction and constructive criticism from the manager.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with general ledger, reconciliation, month-end processes, financial reporting, financial statement preparation, and cost accounting.

• Proficiency in accounting, finance, accounts payable, and reporting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Pell City, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
