Position Details:

·         Permanent, Full-time

·         Hourly

·         On-Site

·         Schedule: Monday to Friday

·         Hours of Work: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

 

Location:                     Fort Mill, South Carolina, USA

Summary:

The RMA Repair Technician role requires experience in electronics manufacturing, including both surface mount and through-hole component technologies. The position demands a high level of proficiency in rework, as well as repair and assembly of products at various stages of completion. It also requires strong hand–eye coordination, attention to detail, and solid troubleshooting capabilities. Advanced soldering skills are essential, along with a strong understanding of IPC standards and J-STD-001 soldering practices. Relevant certification or formal training in these standards is considered an asset.

The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:

·           Conduct quality control for all MRI RMA products to meet commercial standards and customer satisfaction.

·           Final testing for all MRI RMA products in finished goods condition and upgrades.

·           Report any defective parts to RMA.

·           Repair, assemble and test electronic products (LED display modules, controllers, etc.).

·           Performs in-line inspection, using magnifying devices to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.

·           Soldering, desoldering preparation, cleaning of surface mount and through hole components, pads, etc. following IPC 610 and J-STD-001 criteria.

·           Use low and high voltage wattage soldering irons and hot air reflow systems for surface mount components (SMDs) and through hole components.

·           Provide in-process inspection and touch up of through hold and surface mount components (SMD).

·           Keep immediate and nearby work areas and equipment in safe, clean and orderly condition.

·           Report any unsafe or abnormal conditions or opportunities for continual improvement to direct Supervisor.

·           Work collaboratively with other team members and leadership.

·           Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

Academic Training:

·         Vocational school certificate or college degree required.

 

Work Experience:

·         Experience in testing and good soldering skills.

·         Experience working in a manufacturing environment an asset.

·         Good knowledge on troubleshooting.

 

Specific Competencies:

·         Capable of self-motivated hard work with a positive attitude.

·         Must be a team player, ability to work under pressure.

·         Disciplined, proactive and shows initiative.
