Funded by the Defense Language and National Security Education Office, the LTC offers language instruction certification and advanced training in multiple strategic languages. Duties & Responsibilities Preparelesson plans and instruct sessions according toapproved curriculum. Attend pre-course meetings with ProgramManager/Executive Director. Understand Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) andInteragency Language Roundtable (ILR) score levels. Develop the course(s) curriculum and lesson plans withauthentic reading and listening materials. Build, update curriculum and course materials. Answer student emails and communicate regularly withstudents. Provide communication and feedback to studentsthroughout the course. Submit lesson plans and course/teaching materials toLTC Program Manager for teaching material archive. Communicate and/or meet with center directors, otherinstructors in the same teaching team, and LTC staff as needed. Provide feedback to Program Manager/Executive Directoron course(s) as needed. Additional duties as required by supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in related field. Nativeor near-native fluency in the Chinese language. Prior experience in teaching language courses. Preferred Qualifications Terminal degree in Chinese language pedagogy, second/foreign language education, applied linguistics, or other relevant field. Prior experience in curriculum development. Prior experience in teaching beginner through advanced intensive language courses and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
