Architecture Design Technology Manager

About the Role HNTB is looking for a lead BIM and design technology resource to serve as a project‑level manager, responsible for BIM quality and execution. The role involves working with project teams to outline technology objectives, requirements, and design/documentation approaches while maintaining expertise in Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Forma, large‑project model coordination, clash detection, 3D modeling, visualization, database analysis, and model auditing. What You’ll Do Serve as a project‑level manager of BIM quality and execution. Provide proactive support to project teams, including BIM implementation planning, team kick‑off, and technology configuration. Fulfill requirements for project technology‑related task orders. Investigate, evaluate, and develop best practices and project team workflows. Review design models and project data for quality, organization, and performance. Set up, configure, and administer Autodesk Construction Cloud project sites and associated services. Coordinate and facilitate clash detection, QA/QC, and auditing of design models across varied authoring software. Develop and maintain project BIM Execution Plan documents and templates. Lead regular multidisciplinary project BIM meetings. Act as liaison between HNTB and the client on BIM and technology aspects. Provide experienced and professional opinions, communications, and leadership related to BIM and technology to HNTB and its partners. Provide best practices for large teams and large‑project modeling, documentation, file sharing, and QA/QC. Develop, implement, and enforce BIM and design technology standards, including content libraries and templates. Lead the development of technical documentation of existing, new, and alternative workflows and modeling techniques. Serve as top‑tier support for advanced, complex Revit/BIM software workflows and modeling. Assist in the development of staff, including advanced skills training for key employees or groups. Understand current hardware and participate in evaluation of updates and improvements. Provide orientation and training on firm‑wide standards and guidelines. Assist teams with creation and configuration of MS Teams sites. Coordinate with project management on staffing and project budgets. Provide mentorship to BIM Manager staff. May be responsible for recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including performance reviews and succession planning. Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field and 8 years of relevant experience in BIM/Technology Management at an architectural, engineering, construction, or related firm. Alternatively, 12 years of architectural design, computational design, or related experience in lieu of a degree. What You’ll Bring Superior knowledge and experience with a wide range of current and emerging tools and workflows. Knowledge in computational design, visual scripting or programming. Knowledge of the Newforma Project Information Management platform. Proficiency in Adobe suite of applications. Proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to engage across all levels, functions, cultures, and geographies. High level of attention to detail and the ability to discover opportunities for improvement. Rapid learning and troubleshooting ability for new solutions. Critical thinking to advise appropriate solutions for complex issues. Clear communication of complex subjects in simple ways. Personal accountability and proactive, collaborative, and enthusiastic attitude toward emerging technologies. What We Prefer 10+ years of relevant experience in BIM/Technology Management at an architectural, engineering, construction, or related firm. Experience with large firms, large projects, and large teams. Experience with rendering/visualization platforms. Experience with Rhino and SketchUp. Reality capture and point cloud experience. Experience with IMAGINiT Clarity operations. Locations: New York, NY The approximate pay range for New York is $110,384.86 – $215,816.57. The approximate nationwide pay range for this position is $110,384.86 – $215,816.57. Actual compensation will be dependent on qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
