Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The nurse will monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring safe and efficient patient transitions and recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition continuously during recovery and document vital signs and clinical observations.
• Administer medications and pain management as prescribed, adhering to protocols.
• Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient care.
• Respond promptly to emergent patient needs, adjusting care plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and interventions.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent PACU or perioperative nursing experience.
• BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to work evening shifts as required.
