General Nephrologist - Academic Medicine

Brown University Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Nephrologist with a strong interest in academic medicine and clinical research to join our established team of academic nephrologists in Providence, Rhode Island. This full-time position is on the Clinician Educator Track at Brown University and offers an outstanding opportunity to combine clinical practice, teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activity within a nationally recognized academic environment. Visa candidates welcome to apply.

Inpatient responsibilities are shared among faculty

Rhode Island Hospital

The Miriam Hospital consult service

VA Medical Center nephrology consult service

Kent Hospital nephrology coverage

Outpatient Responsibilities

Approximately 2–4 outpatient sessions per week.

Home Hemodialysis

Peritoneal Dialysis

Glomerulonephritis

Other specialized nephrology services

Approximately 1–3 outpatient dialysis coverage shifts.

Call Schedule

Overnight call coverage is shared among faculty.

Approximately 8 weekend calls per year, supporting an excellent balance between clinical responsibilities and personal time.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary: $180,000–$260,000, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree.

Completion of an accredited Nephrology Fellowship.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology.
