Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

• Current BLS certification required.

• ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred or required per facility policy.

• Recent Operating Room nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate perioperative patient care.

• Prepare the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.

• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.

• Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during surgical procedures.

• Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process and respond to changes in condition.

• Administer medications, treatments, and documentation in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote patient safety and positive surgical outcomes.

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation.

• Adhere to patient safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
