The nurse will be responsible for pre, intra, and post procedure patient care. Procedural technical experience is a must. Common procedures include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and bronchoscopy. The unit provides care for adults with mid to high acuity levels. The nurse will assist in various critical actions such as biopsy, balloon dilatation, and therapeutic injections. They will also perform non-critical actions with minimal or no prompting, including troubleshooting equipment. Weekend and evening on-call requirements may be necessary. The environment is fast-paced, focused on patient safety and quality care.
