Job Title Clinical Assistant / Associate Professor, Division of Physical Therapy Department Medicine | Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Position Overview Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences are invited to apply for a clinical faculty member to teach in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the Assistant or Associate Professor-Clinical rank. This initial five‑year appointment is renewable in 3–5 year terms based on continued need and annual reviews. Candidates should have physical therapy teaching and practice experience in neurology, geriatrics, clinical reasoning and differential diagnosis, pediatrics, or clinical education administration; ideally, candidates will cover more than one area. A doctoral degree in physical therapy (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) or a bachelor’s or master’s plus an earned academic doctorate is preferred. Faculty devote most of their time to teaching and must demonstrate excellence as educators, scholars, and committed professionals. Track & Rank Track: Clinical faculty, non‑tenure. Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor – Clinical. Language Requirements English Sponsorship Offered Performance Objectives Teach DPT students in person and online in the identified need areas. Contribute to graduate programs (MS or PhD) in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Mentor students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Mentor students completing case study projects in the DPT program. Contribute to the science of the profession through a focused scholarship program. Contribute high‑level service to the program, school, college, university, and professional organizations. Allocate 65% teaching, 10–25% scholarship, 10–25% service. Education and Experience Requirements – Required Doctoral degree in physical therapy (or bachelor’s or master’s plus an earned academic doctorate), licensure or eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist in Ohio, evidence of strong teaching ability (including experience with online LMS), ability to mentor graduate and professional students, clinical expertise in one or more of the following areas: neurology, geriatrics, clinical reasoning and differential diagnosis, pediatrics, or clinical education administration. Education and Experience Requirements – Desired Earned academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, ScD, DHSc), ABPTS certified specialist in a relevant field of physical therapy.
