Responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive orientation and mobility assessments for students
• Developing and implementing individualized orientation and mobility instructional plans based on student needs
• Teaching students effective travel techniques and strategies for safe navigation in both familiar and unfamiliar environments
• Collaborating closely with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure integrated and holistic care
• Documenting student progress and maintaining detailed records in compliance with program standards and regulations
• Communicating effectively with team members and providing training and guidance as needed
• Traveling between member districts as required by caseload

Qualifications and experience sought:

• Valid Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification
• Demonstrated experience working as an OMS, preferably within a school setting
• Solid understanding of best practices in orientation and mobility instruction for students with vision impairments
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a flexible schedule and work independently across districts
• Adaptability and creativity in addressing individual student needs

This contract position is set to begin as soon as possible and runs through the end of the current school year, offering a focused caseload allowing for impactful, individualized student support.
