We are looking for a Concrete Laborer to join our team. A laborer is responsible for the majority of the physical labor performed on construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May lift and move objects, prepare the job site by clearing any debris, removing waste materials. Responsibilities Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects; preparing jobsite including lifting and moving construction material, excavate and fill trenches and ditches, safely operate hand power tools, loading and unloading materials, spotting for equipment movement. Maintain a clean job site including tools and equipment to eliminate potential hazards. Mix concrete, pump concrete, grout, cement, sand, or plaster. Promote and maintain a safe work environment, ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, attend daily tool box meetings and company training programs. Must work productively and safely, consistently meet the production goals as set by the Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries, wear all site specific mandated protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots and safety glasses Manually maneuver pipe Lift a minimum weight of 50 pounds Shovel rock, dirt, or sand Swing a sledgehammer Climb in and out of excavations by ladder or earthen ramp Manually carry materials including bags of concrete, lumber, plastic pipe, grates, castings, etc Responsible for the care and storage of all tools they use and clean up. Ability to lift objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions Ability to communicate orally and in writing, understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions Must have transportation to and from various jobsite Ability to operate equipment and tools properly and safely Must meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency Exercises their right, responsibility and obligation to stop work when knowledgeable of job hazards Work outside in the elements Able to respond quickly and willing to assist with any job duties asked by Foreman Ability to read, understands, follow, and enforce safety procedures and prepare written reports and forms Work independently in the absence of supervision Adhere to OSHA safety requirements. Qualifications Skilled at the practice of operating safely on worksites according to OSHA, MSHA and Moretrench safety protocols and requirements Note that all job site locations are remote and temporary, so a form of transportation is required. The vast majority of our work is within a 1 hour drive of Riverview, FL (just outside of Tampa) so our personnel do very little travel Valid Florida driver’s license, or the equivalent Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time Additional Eligibility Qualifications(Project Specific) Must be 18 years or older and have a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment Valid Drivers License Detailed Back-Ground Check Job may require out of town and even overnight travel Competencies / Technical Capacity Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
