As a Mine & Process Plant Controls Electrician with Express Employment Professionals , you’ll join a skilled team trusted to keep a major industrial operation safe, reliable, and compliant. Your missionProtect uptime and compliance by owning the health of plant electrical and control systems while adhering to federal and state mining regulations and company policies.
How you’ll do it- Begin each shift with required safety inspections; conduct additional checks as site conditions dictate.
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, generators, AC/DC starters, breakers, lighting circuits, conduit/wiring, and control systems.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical and drive systems to increase reliability.
- Leverage meters, meggers, and diagnostic tools to identify faults and confirm system performance.
- Install new equipment during construction projects, upgrades, and replacements.
- Support mechanical work: isolate and lock out drives, disconnect motor leads, and prepare equipment for safe disassembly.
- Operate mobile equipment as needed in accordance with MSHA-required task training and safety procedures.
- Maintain a complete set of required tools within 90 days of assignment (tool list provided upon hire).
- Eliminate slip, trip, and fall risks through consistent housekeeping.
- Deep electrical know-how, sharp troubleshooting instincts, and hands-on mechanical aptitude.
- Rock-solid reliability, excellent attendance, and a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to perform arc welding and operate cutting torches as needed.
- Independent, self-directed work style with clear, effective communication.
- Knowledgeable about safely operating mobile equipment in plant environments.
- 3–5 years of verifiable experience as an industrial electrician in mining or heavy industry.
- Proficiency with electrical meters, megger testing, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting variable speed drives, power distribution systems, and AC/DC starters.
- PLC troubleshooting required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
- Pay: $40.02
