Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking a Scientist I – R&D Immunology & Flow Cytometry to join our team in Burlington, NC!Job Responsibilities:The Scientist I – R&D will support development and optimization of clinical flow cytometry assays for diagnostic applications.Perform flow cytometry experiments, including sample preparation, staining, acquisition, and data analysisAssist with development and validation of new assays, including immunodeficiency testing, and minimal residual disease (MRD) applicationsAnalyze experimental results, troubleshoot assay performance, and contribute to scientific decision-makingDevelop and optimize multicolor flow cytometry panels and gating strategiesSupport analytical validation activities, including precision, stability, method comparisons, and assay performance evaluationsPerform literature reviews and apply scientific knowledge to support assay development activitiesMaintain accurate experimental documentation, protocols, and reportsCollaborate with scientists, clinical laboratory teams, and cross-functional partnersPresent project updates and scientific findings to team members and leadershipMinimum Qualifications:Ph.D. in Life Sciences Immunology, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Hematology.3 or more years of experience with flow cytometry, experimental design, assay optimization, or data analysisPreferred Qualifications:1 or more years of experience with clinical flow cytometry applications, including immunodeficiency, leukemia/lymphoma, or MRD testing1 or more years of experience with multicolor flow cytometry panel design and optimization1 or more years of experience with flow cytometry analysis software1 or more years of experience with automation or laboratory workflow optimization5 or more years of experience with assay development, validation, or translational researchAdditional Job Standards:Experience conducting independent laboratory research and interpreting experimental resultsStrong understanding of immunology and cellular biologyAbility to critically evaluate scientific literature and apply findings to laboratory projectsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet project timelinesAt Labcorp, you can expect the following:Innovative Environment: Join a leading healthcare organization committed to driving innovation through internal development to help improve health and improve lives.Collaborative Culture: Work in a dynamic, inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and fosters collaboration.Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
