Job Details Job Location: Harrisonville, MO 64701 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Job Shift: Day Nurse Manager—Mills Oncology and Rheumatology Center Primary Purpose To ensure the safe delivery of high-quality patient care through effective planning, organization, and direction of activities within the Mills Oncology and Rheumatology Center. Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities Formally responsible for developing and making recommendations regarding departmental policies and procedures consistent with hospital goals and regulatory requirements. Routine Decision Making Determines staff assignments and staffing patterns; ensures patient care and treatment are appropriate and consistent with current standards of practice; ensures adequacy and proper functioning of equipment. Formal Supervisory Responsibility Varying numbers of healthcare and clerical employees depending upon the specific department. Required Knowledge Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, state and federal laws, and regulatory requirements related to patient care and nursing practice; understanding of disease processes, available resources, and equipment operation and performance. Required Skills and Ability Must possess effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to delegate appropriately; demonstrate proficiency with healthcare technology; ability to manage budgets; strong organizational and multitasking skills. Unusual Working Conditions Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications or chemicals associated with oncology and rheumatology treatment. Age Specific Competencies Provides care for birth to pediatric (birth – 2 years), pediatric/child patients between (2 years – 12 years); adolescent patients between 12 to 18 years of age; adult patients 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older. Qualifications Education and Certification/Registration Required for the Position: Current RN license in the state of Missouri preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
