Position Overview

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals is seeking faculty to join our team. Appointment will be made at the Associate or Full Professor ranks in the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical Faculty Series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in California.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Gastroenterology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching and supervising learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Strong clinical and procedural skills in pediatric gastroenterology, endoscopy, hepatology, and related diagnostic or interventional procedures.
• Evidence of scholarly activity—peer-reviewed publications, clinical research, or presentations in pediatric GI, hepatology, or nutrition.
• Interest or experience in academic pediatrics, including curriculum development, quality improvement, or leadership roles.
• Experience in multidisciplinary or collaborative care models (e.g., working with surgery, hepatology, nutrition, or other subspecialties).

Salary and Benefits

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $161,700–$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
