Deli Cook – Pete's

Pete's is looking for a dependable, hardworking Deli Cook to join our team. This position prepares sandwiches, pizzas, breakfast items, and other deli foods while keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and ready to serve customers. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works well with others, and can keep up in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
• Make sandwiches, pizzas, and other customer orders accurately and promptly.
• Complete daily prep work, including slicing ingredients, portioning products, and stocking workstations.
• Keep hot food displays and grab-and-go areas stocked with fresh, properly labeled products.
• Follow food safety procedures, including proper handwashing, temperature checks, storage, and date labeling.
• Monitor food quality and freshness, rotate stock, and record waste accurately.
• Wash dishes and clean and sanitize counters, equipment, floors, and food preparation areas.
• Help receive deliveries and put products away in the correct storage areas.
• Provide friendly customer service and communicate clearly with coworkers and management.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and daily checklists.

Qualifications and Expectations

• Previous kitchen, restaurant, or deli experience is helpful.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and order accuracy.
• Ability to perform typical kitchen duties, including standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and moving supplies, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Availability to work scheduled shifts, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
