About the Role
The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Claims with a focus on complex casualty. This remote opportunity is ideal for a professional with a strong background in technical knowledge of complex casualty claims, who is passionate about working in a best-in-class service environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategy, execution, and overall performance of the claims function, ensuring consistent, high-quality claims handling across all lines. This role requires a hands-on leader and technical expert who can guide complex claim decisions, develop talent, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' of experience in property and casualty claims, with at least 5 years' in a leadership role. The role demands expertise in various areas, including catastrophe management, claims data and performance metrics, financial management, and regulatory compliance. The AVP will be expected to champion a customer-centric claims approach, drive performance against key metrics, and establish consistent claims handling policies. Advanced skills in AI-enabled leadership, business ownership, collaboration, and strategic leadership are essential. The position offers a clear career path for continued leadership growth within the claims organization and is suited for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree, advanced degree or professional designations preferred, and a proven track record of success in a similar role.
