Reading Interventionist Location: Texas The Meadows Center for Preventing Education Risk (MCPER) at The University of Texas at Austin is looking for individuals to serve as reading interventionists in Hutto ISD. You will be part of a team that works with students in public schools located in Hutto providing small group reading instruction to elementary school students. Responsibilities Teach students to improve their word reading and reading comprehension skills. Travel to Hutto ISD schools. Receive training on high‑quality instruction using lesson plans developed by the MCPER research team (four paid training dates in mid‑October). Maintain a positive and productive learning environment. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with one year of relevant experience and experience working with children in an educational setting. Strong verbal and written communication skills, reliable, flexible, team‑player, and strong English proficiency. Reliable vehicle for travel to schools and willingness to travel to Hutto ISD. Criminal background check required for all reading interventionists. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, speech pathology, or social work (or equivalent). Three years of relevant experience. Salary $25/hr Working Conditions Classroom environment in Hutto ISD schools. Work Shift 10‑19 hours per week, 3‑5 days per week, during school hours (7 am‑3 pm).
