About the Role
The Company is seeking an SVP for Strategy and Business Development to play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term growth agenda and building strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating market insights, scientific capabilities, competitive dynamics, and customer needs into a clear, actionable strategy. This includes the development of a multi-year strategic roadmap, identifying new areas for growth, and shaping go-to-market approaches for novel technologies and products. The role also involves driving the sourcing, evaluation, structuring, and execution of strategic collaborations that accelerate technology development, product adoption, and market access. The ideal leader will have a strong background in agriculture, biotechnology, and related fields, with a proven ability to evaluate business opportunities and lead cross-functional teams. Applicants for the SVP position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree preferred, and at least 10 years of experience in strategy, business development, or related leadership roles. A strong understanding of agriculture, biotechnology, and related industries is essential, as is a proven track record in leading and delivering strategic partnerships and business development initiatives. The role requires excellent executive communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to influence stakeholders and lead a high-performing team. Experience in areas such as gene editing, biologicals, and a background in a venture-backed or innovation-oriented company are also desirable. The candidate should be adept at integrating a data and AI strategy into the overall business strategy and have the ability to operate across different markets and cultures.
