Job Description

This role focuses on kitting parts for mechanics, supporting customer orders and installations, and ensuring accurate inventory control in a busy shop and warehouse environment. You will interact directly with customers and internal coworkers to process sales orders, verify orders, and manage parts inventory using computer systems and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Kit and prepare parts for mechanics to support customer orders and vehicle installs.
• Provide customer service by interacting with customers in person and by phone to discuss orders, parts needs, and potential options.
• Collaborate with internal coworkers to process sales orders, verify order details, and ensure accurate fulfillment.
• Perform warehouse inventory management, including stocking shelves, organizing parts, and maintaining orderly storage areas.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
• Use computer systems to track inventory levels, process orders, and update parts records in real time.
• Order parts and materials as needed to maintain appropriate stock levels and meet customer demand.
• Support retail sales activities, including assisting walk-in customers and discussing product options.
• Handle shipping and receiving tasks, including checking in incoming shipments and preparing outgoing orders.
• Perform material handling duties, including lifting and moving parts and materials up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Work safely and effectively in a shop environment, both indoors and outdoors, in varying temperatures.
• Apply mechanical aptitude to understand parts, equipment, and basic vehicle-related components.

Essential Skills

• Knowledge of cycle counts and inventory control processes.
• Ability to proficiently use computers and systems to track inventory, order parts, and manage customer orders.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Sales-minded approach with the ability to discuss orders with customers and identify potential upsell opportunities.
• Capability to lift 50 lbs regularly and perform material handling tasks safely.
• Comfort working in a shop environment indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Experience with inventory management, including stocking, cycle counting, and inventory audits.
• Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office and other inventory or order management software.
• Mechanical aptitude to understand parts, components, and basic vehicle or equipment systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Industry knowledge related to automotive and truck equipment.
• Experience as a parts clerk, or in parts inventory, retail sales, or warehouse inventory roles.
• Experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse or shop environment.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment and safe handling practices.
• Experience performing cycle counts and supporting inventory control initiatives.
• Comfort working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

This is a day-shift role with hours typically from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The position is structured as a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. You will work in a shop environment that resembles a mechanic bay, with both indoor and outdoor exposure. Temperatures can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, so you should be comfortable working in varying climate conditions. The role involves regular lifting of up to 50 lbs and performing material handling tasks. You will use computer systems and Microsoft Office as part of daily inventory and order management activities, and you will work closely with mechanics, warehouse staff, and customer-facing team members in a hands-on, operational setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sharonville, OH.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
