This position is responsible for the overall management of the workforce of a Processing Plant. Responsibilities include processing, shipping, distribution, equipment maintenance and repair, building maintenance and repair, and all corresponding record keeping. This highly visible position has a critical role in our team environment.The Plant Superintendent will be responsible for strategic and tactical management of all plant functions and reports directly to the General Manager.As an important team member, the expectations will be to consistently strive and contribute to overall excellence that will meet or exceed corporate objectives. Candidate must be safety conscious and committed to maintaining our safe workplace. Must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.Hours may vary based on production requirements and customer needs. HS Grad or G.E.D. equivalent.Minimum Requirements for this Position Include:Management of Plant & Staff PositionsScheduling, training and mentoring of all associatesCoordinate and insure all corporate training guidelines are being met for all associatesManage multi-functional areas including; Production and EngineeringA thorough understanding of productionWilling to work second shift and rotating weekendsMicrosoft Office applications Word / Excel / OutlookGeneral understanding of the internet's emerging role in vendor communicationBackground in maintenance, preventative maintenanceStrong management skills necessary:Formal training on how to manage and lead by exampleConflict resolution and training are key components for this positionGood common senseBudgetingP & L responsibility, evaluations & presentationsGoal setting, delegate and follow-upHands on leadership a mustMust be able to lead and motivate by exampleMust be comfortable communicating with all levels of managementMust be a self-starter who is good at identifying and leveraging opportunities as they ariseMust have a positive attitude and excellent telephone skillsFocus on ProfitabilityExercises good fiscal judgmentSeek ways to improve processes to increase profitsActs to protect company assetsResponsible for all Company assets including:Building, equipment, inventory and partsBuilding and ground maintenanceCommunication:Listens and allows for a free exchange of ideasCreates an environment of trust by giving and receiving honest communicationCommunicates in an open, considerate manner with associates, managers, hubs, customers and vendorsStrategic and tactical implementation:Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain strategies that tightly connect the company to its' vendor and customer baseAssign management to specific duties that best utilize their experience and maximize productionEstablish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping accurate warehouse inventories, including utilization of designated computer systems if applicableEfficiencies of production - develop production schedules to utilize equipment and employees most effectivelyPurchasing & price negotiation fuel oil and natural gas for boilers, diesel for trucks, ordering replacement parts, vehicles and equipment.Work closely with the Satellite Distribution Centers, vendors and customers to provide uninterrupted flow of product to our customersCommunications to the RVP, Corporate Office, and Distribution CenterMonthly Production/Engineering, and Safety Committee MeetingsWeekly & Monthly report completion and reviewTeamwork:Respects & supports team members, manages conflict effectivelySupports decisions, puts what is best for Company above personal agendaCreative and action oriented in solving problems and improving processesCommitment & Personal GrowthRecognizes the issues, focuses on optimal resultsMakes a commitment to the success of the team, department, and companyInvests in training and development, seeks challengesAssumes additional responsibility as necessaryStrives to make the company a great place to work for self and othersOther Requirements:Valid driver's license, with excellent driving recordMust be able to pass drug screen whenever requiredHigh level of EnergyHave fun and enjoy what you do!An EEO/DV/WM Co.
