Overview The Global Products Group is dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam’s etch and deposition products. Responsibilities Support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept to productization, including conceptualization, designing, CAD modeling, development, and test/validation. Design components using a variety of metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings. Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI, Lam standards, and industry best practices for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to create engineering requirements from marketing requirements to drive product development. Highly proficient in 3D NX Tool or equivalent. Experience in structural, thermal, and fluid delivery systems with theoretical analysis and working knowledge of thermal and structural FEA modeling. Develop system P&ID and define theory of operation for hardware, using key problem solving and decision-making tools and performing risk analysis. Develop feasibility studies and test plans to characterize and validate design performance. Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to communicate design intent, evaluation, and validation to a diverse audience in design reviews. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions can be manufactured to requirements, with high quality and cost optimization. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 12+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the Semiconductor industry is a plus. Salary range for this position in the California, San Francisco Bay Area is $146,000.00 - $311,000.00. Actual offers depend on location, level, education, training, skills, experience, and other factors. The range is relevant to applicants who reside or work onsite in the SF Bay Area only.
