About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN Medical/Surgical experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: EPIC experience, ability to manage general Med/Surg skillset including traches, chest tubes, reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips, administering Lasix, insulin, and heparin drips, and using wound vacs. Description: This position is for an experienced Registered Nurse to work in a Medical/Surgical setting. The facility is a designated trauma center that also features a NICU and a stroke center. The typical patient population includes various Med/Surg patient types. Patient ratios may vary but generally average up to 6 patients per nurse. Candidates should possess strong critical care skills. Telemetry monitoring will be central with assistance from telemetry technicians. Support staff within the department includes CNAs, techs, charge nurses, and a rapid response team. Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically EPIC, is required. Nurses may float to any Medical/Surgical unit as needed based on staffing. Weekend rotations are expected every other weekend. There are no on-call requirements, but there will be holiday expectations of every other major holiday. Requests for time off will be approved up to 7 days. Scrubs should be solid colors without logos. Free parking is provided.
