Certified Medical Coding Specialist

To support a growing orthopedic and rehabilitation practice, the full-time Medical Coding Specialist II will utilize coding software to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in a 100% remote work environment. Key responsibilities Utilize encoder and grouper software to determine appropriate coding for various medical services Maintain knowledge of National Correct Coding Initiatives and apply relevant guidelines to select codes and modifiers Ensure compliance with institutional guidelines and regulatory requirements in coding practices Required qualifications Medical coding education or an active coding certification in lieu of education 1 year of progressive coding experience required Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification upon hire required Experience in multiple specialties preferred Knowledge of HCC Risk Adjustment Coding preferred
