Sunstate Carriers, Inc. is hiring CDL A OTR Reefer Drivers in Tavares, FL . Drivers will be hauling refrigerated goods throughout the northeast, southeast, midwest, and Texas. 100% of the freight hauled is customer freight, not brokered freight. Compensation

• Average weekly pay: $1,500 to $1,800
  • Base 56 CPM with an average of 2,700 – 3,200 miles weekly
  • 1⁄2 CPM increase every 6 months!
  • Paid zip code to zip code miles, loaded & unloaded
• Accessorial Pay:
  • Detention pay: $15 per hour maximum of 5 hours (starts 3 hours after appt. time)
  • Layover pay: $75 per 24 hour period
  • Breakdown pay: $100 + $25 food allowance per 24 hour period (excluding FL yard)
  • Relay pay: $50 (loads picked up at terminal do not apply)
• Bonuses:
  • 90-Day bonus: $1,000
  • Referral bonus: $1,000
  • Holiday bonus pay
  • Monthly mileage performance bonus: Starts at 2 CPM up to 6 CPM
  • Driver of the quarter performance bonus: Extra 3 CPM on all miles for the following quarter
• Paid via direct deposit weekly

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

• Home Time: 1 day home for each week on the road with additional opportunities to get home for breaks during the week
• Schedule: 12-14 days out with swing through home access every 4-5 days
  • Drivers can stay out longer if preferred
• Route: Throughout the northeast, southeast, midwest, and Texas
  • No NYC or long island
• Level of Touch: No touch freight

• 2023 & Newer Volvo & International sleeper trucks
• 53' Air-ride refrigerated trailers
• Automatic transmission
• Governed speed: 69mph on the pedal, 72mph on cruise
• Amenities: GPS tablet, fridge, mattress, APU, power inverter
• ELD equipped using Samsara system
• Drivewyze bypass service
• Outward facing cameras

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have CDL A license 
• Must have a minimum of 15 months verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience within the past 3 years
• No reckless/careless driving, 15 over speeding, cell phone use, U-turns, or backing on a roadway in the past 3 years
• No drug or alcohol-related convictions for as long as the driver has held a CDL
• No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
• No more than 1 preventable crash in the past year or 2 preventable crashes in the past 3 years
• Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations 
• Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen 
• Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 75 miles of Tavares, FL or be willing to relocate for this position
