- # Service ManagerApplyremote type: On-Sitelocations: Houston, TX - CCIStime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: R-100594**Job Description:****About the Role** At PSS Cross Country Infrastructure Solutions, every team member plays a critical role in delivering the products, equipment, and expertise that keep America’s infrastructure projects moving forward.The **Service Manager** is responsible for overseeing daily service shop operations, managing service mechanics and technicians, and ensuring repairs, maintenance, and customer work orders are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational efficiency, enforcing safety compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.This position reports to Operations leadership and collaborates closely with shop staff, customers, and field personnel.## ## What You’ll Do### Service Operations & Leadership* Hire, train, and provide daily oversight of service mechanics and shop personnel* Manage employee scheduling and assignment of daily duties* Support employee development through coaching, performance management, and disciplinary action when necessary* Oversee day-to-day service operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality of work* Ensure completed work meets identified deadlines and company service standards* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment### ### Customer Service & Work Order Management* Process customer and client work orders accurately and timely* Enter customer and job information into internal systems and maintain accurate service records and files* Address and resolve customer issues, concerns, and complaints professionally* Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair timelines, equipment status, and service expectations* Interpret and explain work orders and technical terminology in a clear and understandable manner### ### Equipment Maintenance & Safety* Assist with repair, construction, maintenance, and other service-related tasks as needed* Inspect, clean, and maintain shop equipment and machinery* Operate forklifts and other shop equipment as required* Enforce all health and safety policies and procedures within the shop* Take the lead during on-site health or safety emergencies* Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to all company safety protocols### ### Inventory & Administrative Support* Order shop supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels* Maintain accurate documentation related to repairs, maintenance, and service operations* Support process improvements to increase operational efficiency and organization* Assist with tracking maintenance schedules, equipment records, and service documentation## What You Bring* Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (e.g., Social Security card, passport, or other acceptable I‐9 documents)* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team* In-depth knowledge of service operations, repair processes, and industry practices* Ability to read, interpret, and create work orders* Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills* Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities* Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures* Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations* Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively* Basic computer and data entry skills* Required certifications and qualifications to operate heavy machinery and shop equipment## ## Working Conditions* Majority of working hours will be spent in the shop participating in and overseeing repairs and maintenance activities* Shift schedules may vary between days and evenings* Weekend hours may be required* Standard 40-hour workweek applies, though overtime may be necessary* Use of PPE is required where appropriate* Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and operation of machinery in a shop environment## ## Benefits We Offer* PPO Medical & Dental Plans* Vision Insurance* Company-Paid Basic Life & AD&D* Voluntary Life & AD&D* Short- and Long-Term Disability* Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for Health & Dependent Care* Generous 401(k) with Company Match## ## Why Work With UsFormed through the combination of PSS Industrial Group and Cross Country Infrastructure Services, PSS Cross Country Infrastructure Solutions unites deep product application knowledge, national distribution strength, and equipment rental expertise across more than 40 locations nationwide.
