RN Clinical Nurse - University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Description The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized nursing services for clinical research participants in ambulatory settings. The RN will deliver high quality care to healthy volunteers and patients, support protocol integrity, and ensure data collection accuracy. Responsibilities Provide individualized nursing care based on participant clinical condition, study protocol, and procedures. Perform protocol‑specified clinical activities and administer investigational products. Document care and monitoring in accordance with federal regulations, Good Clinical Practice, and institutional policies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective study conduct. Participate in charge nurse rotations, continuous quality improvement, and train new staff. Minimum Education and Experience Registered Nurse license in the State of North Carolina. Preferred Qualifications Experience in pediatrics, medical‑surgical care, clinical research, IV/phlebotomy, and biotherapy or investigational medications. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain accuracy, and work independently or with a team. Proficient in Epic or similar EMR systems and Microsoft Office. Required Licenses & Certifications Valid NC driver’s license and BLS certification. Physical & Mental Requirements Visual attention and mental concentration required throughout the shift. Ability to remain seated at a computer for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to travel within the hospital, on campus, and to off‑site research sites. Work Schedule Day job (Monday‑Friday), early clinic closure on Fridays, occasional evening and weekend work, on‑call duties, and overtime as needed. Sign‑On Bonus Eligible new permanent full‑time or part‑time employees may receive a sign‑on bonus (up to $2,500) subject to budget and eligibility rules.
