Growing Together.Location: Hybrid in Pearland TXPrimary Responsibilities:Verifying insurance eligibility and benefitsDetermining insurance filing orderPreparing patient pre-treatment cost-share estimates based on the service schedule, contracted plan reimbursement allowances, benefits, and out of pocket thresholdsAccurately entering or updating patient demographics, insurance coverage, effective and termination dates, and filing order in the Practice Management SystemCommunicates with patients by phone or electronically to explain coverage and benefits, pre-treatment cost estimates and patient financial liability, advises of non-coverage, takes payments, and sets up payment plans for services following department policiesExhibits exceptional customer skills to provide the patient with a positive experienceYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED from an accredited program1+ year of experience in similar field involving insurance verification, patient accounts or medical office functions; or 6+ months experience with completion of Medical Billing & Coding Course; or 6+ months experience registration, scheduling, or front desk experience at Kelsey-Seybold ClinicDemonstrated MS Office, Computer skills, Internet. Must demonstrate fast and accurate computer and typing skillsDemonstrated basic PC literacyDemonstrated Alpha/Num Forms EntryDemonstrated good customer service verbal and writing skillsDemonstrated basic knowledge of health insuranceProven ability to add and subtract 4-digit numbers and apply percentages and discountsHybrid requirements: Must have own laptop/desktop monitor/keyboard at home.Preferred Qualifications:2+ years of experience in medical office environment handling insurance verification with knowledge of wide range of productsKelsey-Seybold experienceDemonstrated knowledge of insurance concepts and theory.Epic ExperienceDemonstrated high PC proficiencyDemonstrated excellent communication skillsPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment.
