IVH-L CNA-VETERANS NURSING ASSISTANT-CERTIFIED (3RD SHIFT) (UMP)

This role provides direct nursing assistance and daily support to residents in a long-term care setting, helping ensure their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, supporting treatments directed by clinical staff, monitoring resident needs, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Essential Functions:

• Under general supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, performs nursing assistance and personal care services for residents with physical and/or mental impairments.
• Takes and records weight and vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration), shampoos, heat and cold therapy, and application of lotions and creams.
• Performs for or assists residents with range of motion exercises.
• Reports compliance with treatments to nursing staff, such as: orthotic splints, wound dressings, skin wraps, oxygen therapy, and other related treatments.
• Continually inspects and checks residents in the assigned areas to ensure comfort and safety.
• Performs routine straightening and organizing of the residents units.
• Performs effective infection control practices utilizing universal precautions in resident care.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires successful completion of an Illinois approved Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program consisting of a minimum of 120 hours of instruction which shall include at least 80 hours of theoretical instruction and 40 hours of clinical practice.
• Requires inclusion on the Illinois Department of Public Health Nurse Aide Registry within 60 days of hire.
• Requires a health inventory and physical examination no more than 30 days prior to and no more than 30 days after the initial employment in the facility. Includes a required tuberculin test.

Conditions of Employment:

• Requires ability to pass a background check.
• Requires ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical.
• Requires ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
• Requires ability to acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
• Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
• Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
• Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
