Job Summary:

 

Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing critical accounting functions that support the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role leads month-end close activities, manages accounts payable processes, performs complex account reconciliations, strengthens internal controls, and ensures compliance with accounting policies and procedures. In addition, will also provide support for accounts receivable, treasury management, tax compliance, and inventory accounting activities while partnering with operational and leadership teams to improve financial processes and reporting.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

· In collaboration with other support functions, strive to do things right the first time.

· Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

· Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

· Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.

· Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure compliance with GAAP.

· Assist with annual forecast preparation and periodic financial forecasting activities.

· Support internal and external audit requests and prepare required documentation. Monitor and optimize working capital, including inflows and outflows.

· Assist with debt compliance, reporting requirements, and covenant tracking.

· Oversee the accounts payable function to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and vendor payments.

· Review vendor invoices for proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies.

· Develop and maintain AP procedures that support strong internal controls.

· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

· Prepare and review complex balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.

· Maintain and improve internal accounting controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

· Document accounting procedures and monitor compliance with established policies.

  Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

 

Education/ Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance (with CPA or CMA certification in addition preferred)

· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

· Strong experience in GL accounting, AR, and cash management

· Knowledge of multi-state sales/use tax regulations

· Experience managing or supporting fixed assets accounting

· Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)

Knowledge

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, centered on US-GAAP

· Proficiency in manufacturing accounting software (ProfitKey preferred) (ERP)

· Advanced Excel skills - experience with SQL &/or Power Query a plus

· Experience with treasury management systems

· Experience with customer-driven receivables software (e.g., Taulia, Ariba, Coupa, or similar)

· Office-based with period interaction with operations and sales teams

· Flexibility to support critical deadlines and company operational needs such as in-office overtime (i.e., month-end close, audit periods, and peak seasonal business cycles)
