Junior Civil Engineer

Hiring Range $27.63-$37.05

Starting Salary May Be Adjusted Depending On Experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or will be graduating from an accredited university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering within the next six months;
• Engineer in Training License is not required when applying but must be obtained within one year of employment;
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver’s.
• Assist the Engineering Department with project and construction management;
• Assist Engineering Program Manager with inspections and daily reports;
• Assist Engineering Program Manager with resurfacing program;
• Assist Traffic Engineer with Traffic Signal, Street Light Maintenance and Signage as required;
• Assist Engineering Department with MS4 Program compliance;
• Assist Engineering Department with permit plan reviews, meetings and correspondence;
• Assist Engineering Department with Stormwater Management;
• Assist Engineering Department with Planning & Zoning reviews and meetings;
• Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress;
• Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions and reviews publications to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas;
• Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner;
• Communicates and coordinates regularly with the appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities;
• Performs other related duties consistently as directed.
