Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing for a complex ICU patient population including trauma (head, chest, abdominal, orthopedic), stroke, burns, and general medical/surgical patients requiring intensive monitoring
• Manage ventilated patients and perform medication titration including all common ICU drips
• Monitor and manage arterial lines, central lines, EVDs, and ICP monitoring devices
• Operate and troubleshoot common ICU equipment including CRRT; interpret EKG rhythms and intervene as clinically appropriate using Phillips central monitoring systems
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3; float throughout the facility (excluding ER and OB) as needed, with a capped ratio of 1:4 if floated to MedSurg
• Adhere to facility dress code and infection control protocols, including use of facility-provided scrubs when performing burn patient care and dressing changes

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Demonstrated comfort with ventilator management and medication titration
• Experience with arterial lines and central lines
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy, including a negative drug screen for all panels
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard contract rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred
• Experience with CRRT
• Experience with EVD and ICP monitoring
• Prior exposure to burn patient care, including complex adult burns and pediatric burns up to 18–20% BSA without respiratory involvement
