Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Certified Medical Assistant role based in Bronx, NY. The Certified Medical Assistant will support providers by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting patient histories, and assisting with examinations and procedures. Daily responsibilities include administering injections and vaccinations as directed, performing basic lab tests, collecting specimens, and handling point-of-care testing. The role also involves updating and maintaining electronic medical records, managing patient flow, supporting front-desk operations as needed, and ensuring a clean, safe environment in accordance with infection control and clinic protocols. The Certified Medical Assistant will provide compassionate patient care, clear communication, and contribute to a positive, efficient urgent care experience. Qualifications Strong Medical Assisting skills, including supporting examinations, procedures, and basic clinical tasks. Knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately communicate and document clinical information. Experience in a Medical Office setting, including familiarity with front-desk support and workflow coordination. Demonstrated Patient Care skills, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and patient education. Ability to accurately manage and maintain Medical Records, preferably in an electronic health record (EHR) system. Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent credential from an accredited program. Valid CPR/BLS certification and adherence to infection control and safety standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
