Job Summary

This is the entry-level into the class series that provides routine and special support toinstructional staff in the classroom. Initially under close supervision incumbents perform routine support duties while learning classroom and student policies and procedures. As experience is gained there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. The work is performed within a framework of established procedures and guidelines.

Requirements / Qualifications

In-School Music Tutors (specific hours to be determined based on school site needs) Education: Equivalent to graduation from high : Experience with teaching school-age students is required.

Applicants should not contact immediate supervisor directly to request employment. The following employment procedures will be followed:1. Administrators review applications on file of those who possess the appropriate experience for the assignment.2. Applicants for the specific assignment will be contacted for interview.3. Administrators will recommend candidates to Personnel.4. Personnel will offer position after review of applicants qualifications.5. All applications and supplemental information will be reviewed to determine the candidates whose training and experience most closely match the requirements of the position. Those who pass the initial screening will be invited to participate in the testing process which may include written oral and/or performance exams. The testing results will determine the rank of the candidates from which an eligibility list is prepared.
