Overview Project Managers are responsible for all matters pertaining the execution of project(s) assigned to them in accordance with the contract terms and all Company HSSE, quality, execution and financial goals. This position is an individual contributor or Manager level role typically reporting to the Director of Operations with responsibility, either through direct reporting oversight or in collaboration with Construction, Project Controls, Supply Chain, HR, HSE, and Finance management and staff. Responsibilities Senior Management level responsible for all phases of large projects (>US$100MM) or multiple projects consisting of significant scope, complexity and/or commercial terms. Oversight of budgeting, scheduling, and other managerial aspects of the project including project P&L accountability. Accountable for all vendor and contractor selection, delivery, and execution. Responsible for all client communications and interactions with company support functions. Site-based Project Managers are responsible for all site personnel. This position has bottom line responsibility for the financial and technical success of projects Development of direct reports with maintained succession plan for role Primary responsibilities are to comply with Company business & legal policies, maintain client relationships, protect the Company from unnecessary risks, manage resources for the project, provide overall leadership, and serve as a focal point for client communication Additional responsibilities include maintaining formal and accurate project forecasting, directing continuous improvements through a formal Lessons Learned program at the project level, assuring completion of internal and external project reports Must have a complete understanding of the Contract agreement, project specifications, the "as‑sold" scope of work, and contract commercial terms Establishment and communication of project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy Able to travel to project locations for client/customer meetings and site assessments Robust management of change to mitigate risk and leverage commercial advantage Maintain positive project cash flow Representing the Company and the project at all meetings Participation in the Commercial and Business Development process by providing operational input and during the pre‑contract effort Qualifications Typically 20+ years since first degree and 15+ years of relevant experience in Project Engineering, Construction Management or Project Controls 3+ years Project Site Engineering or Construction Management role Professional degree (Engineering or BS Preferred) Broad technical knowledge of construction methods and equipment, engineering processes, and fabrication capabilities Familiarity with estimating, supply chain, project controls, and contract commercial management Knowledge of Commercial Contracting and Negotiation strategies Familiarity with the Energy & Construction Industry preferred Organizational Structure and Location Organizational Level: N5+ Reports to: Regional Operation Lead Permanent work location: Regional Operations Office May be temporarily assigned to Project Sites Common Performance Metrics Meet all established Company HSE and Quality goals and targets Project performance against estimates as measured in delivery or growth of Project GP Maintain positive project cash flow Development of direct reports with maintained succession plan for role Accurate project forecasting Contract commercial management as measured by financial and operational control of scope and schedule changes Skills and Behaviors Business presence and polish Knowledge of CB&I products and markets Proactively identifies and solves the complex problems Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Mental agility and ability to multi‑task and manage tight deadlines Proven negotiating ability with high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills Demonstrated business partnering skills with the ability to influence the organization Adaptability and agility to learn and contribute in varying and complex environments A mature business and technical acumen coupled with a drive to achieve results Exceptional communication and presentation skill, both written and verbal Ability to work and build credibility across the business, up to and including senior management level Establishes medium and long term career and personal development goals Proactively embraces and promotes the company's values and culture, including diversity & inclusion and a healthy and safe work environment Benefits CB&I is proud to offer eligible employees a robust package of benefits, including major medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k)-matching program, FSA/HSA programs, long- and short-term disability options, life insurance, and AD&D.
