Senior SEO & Organic Growth Manager

ABOUT THIS JOB We are looking for an experienced, hands-on SEO professional to own organic growth across our financial services and insurance websites—from technical performance and content strategy to brand authority, conversion optimization, and revenue. Ideally, you bring 5+ years of SEO experience with measurable results, strong technical skills, and a practical understanding of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and the evolving role of AI in search and discovery. Your mission is to attract qualified visitors, build trust in our brands, and turn that traffic into leads, sales, and revenue. You should be comfortable setting the strategy, implementing improvements yourself, measuring results, and adjusting priorities based on business impact. This role offers the opportunity to build and lead an SEO and organic growth department as results and business needs justify expansion. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, finds creative solutions, and focuses effort on the work most likely to drive meaningful growth. RESPONSIBILITIES Own organic growth strategy and execution. Build and manage a prioritized roadmap across technical SEO, content, authority building, and AI search visibility. Set measurable goals tied to qualified traffic, conversions, and revenue. Identify and fix technical issues. Audit and improve crawling, indexing, site architecture, internal linking, redirects, canonical tags, structured data, mobile usability, and page speed. Implement fixes directly where possible and work with developers on more complex changes, verifying that they deliver the intended results. Build content that attracts and converts. Research keywords, search intent, customer questions, and competitor gaps. Create, commission, and improve useful content that connects visitors with relevant products, offers, and lead-generation opportunities. Develop relationships with industry experts. Proactively recruit subject-matter experts, contributors, and reviewers for interviews, quotes, original insights, and content reviews that strengthen accuracy, credibility, and usefulness. Grow visibility across traditional and AI search. Develop and test approaches for GEO and AEO, including visibility in Google's AI search experiences and platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Monitor mentions, citations, referral traffic, and downstream conversions where measurable. Build external authority and credibility. Develop creative, sustainable approaches to earning relevant backlinks, editorial coverage, expert contributions, brand mentions, and industry partnerships. Identify which opportunities meaningfully strengthen trust and attract qualified visitors. Own relevant community and review channels. Develop and manage our presence on Reddit and evaluate opportunities on ConsumerAffairs, Trustpilot, industry forums, and other relevant platforms. Lead useful participation, brand monitoring, profile management, and coordination of responses to customer feedback, with authentic engagement and appropriate disclosures. Turn traffic into revenue. Improve landing pages, calls to action, internal pathways, comparison pages, and lead forms. Work with marketing, product, and development teams to test changes that increase qualified leads, purchases, sales, and revenue per visitor. Implement and validate monetization tracking. Place and maintain relevant affiliate, referral, and partner links. Configure tracking parameters and conversion events, and connect website activity with lead, sales, and revenue reporting so we can understand which pages and channels generate business value. Monitor performance and act on the data. Use analytics, search data, crawling tools, and revenue reporting to identify opportunities, diagnose declines, and evaluate results. Communicate what changed, why it matters, and what should happen next. Stay ahead of changes in search. Track algorithm updates, competitor strategies, AI search developments, and changing user behavior. Test promising opportunities and expand the approaches that demonstrate results. Build the team as the opportunity grows. Identify resource gaps, recommend hires or contractors, and help recruit and manage writers, technical specialists, outreach professionals, and community contributors. Set clear expectations and evaluate their contribution to growth. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Ideally, 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with demonstrated success growing websites in competitive markets. Case studies showing measurable improvements in organic traffic, qualified leads, sales, or revenue, with a clear explanation of your contribution. Strong technical SEO skills and working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and website content management systems. Practical understanding of GEO, AEO, and AI search, including the ability to test ideas and distinguish evidence from speculation. Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Google Tag Manager, and tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, or Screaming Frog. Experience with content strategy, expert outreach, digital PR, link acquisition, and external authority building. Understanding of conversion optimization, affiliate or referral monetization, tracking links, and revenue attribution. Ability to prioritize work based on expected business impact, effort, and results. Strong communication, independent problem-solving, and ownership from planning through implementation and measurement. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE SEO in insurance, financial services, lead generation, affiliate marketing, or similarly competitive industries. Managing Reddit participation, review platforms, or other communities relevant to customer discovery and trust. Building or managing a team, contractors, or agency relationships. Working with expert-reviewed content and demonstrating experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness. A relevant degree is welcome; demonstrated results and practical capability carry the most weight.
