Python Microservices Solution Architect

Job Title

Job Overview: Pay Range: $62hr - $67hr

Responsibilities

Define target microservices architecture, including API standards, service contracts, and integration patterns.
Own non-functional architecture covering security, observability, data flow, resiliency, and performance.
Lead solution design reviews, architecture decision records (ADRs), and technical risk mitigation strategies.
Drive architecture alignment for legacy coexistence, authentication bridging, JWT-based access, and phased cutover strategies.
Support discovery and extraction of business rules from legacy systems, including Perl-based logic, databases, and integrations.
Partner with DevOps and engineering teams on deployment strategies, rollout, rollback, and production readiness.

Required Skills And Experience

Strong backend architecture expertise using Python and modern frameworks such as FastAPI.
Experience in API governance, authentication and authorization design, and integration patterns.
Knowledge of observability, cloud-native architecture, and distributed systems.
Experience with modernization strategies such as strangler-fig pattern and legacy system decomposition.
Strong understanding of high-availability and resilient system design.
Ability to work across data, security, DevOps, and performance engineering domains.
10+ years of experience in solution architecture or lead engineering roles, particularly in modernizing legacy or monolithic platforms.

Deliverables / Success Measures

Define and document target architecture and key design decisions.
Establish API standards, integration patterns, and non-functional architecture guidelines.
Provide technical review inputs to ensure readiness, scalability, and extensibility for future phases.
