Worship Leader

Full-Time Worship Leader and Ministry Associate

Cedar Valley Baptist Church | Elgin, Texas

A full-time opportunity to lead worship, develop a choir, build ministry teams, and help a growing church reach people for Christ.

About the Opportunity

Cedar Valley Baptist Church is a growing Southern Baptist congregation located in Elgin, Texas, currently averaging approximately 115 people in Sunday morning worship. We are seeking a full-time Worship Leader and Ministry Associate who has a heart for the local church, a passion for leading God's people in worship, and a desire to help build ministries that reach people for Christ.

This position combines worship leadership with an additional area of ministry based on the candidate's gifts, calling, and experience.

Our priority is finding the right person to lead and develop our worship ministry. Approximately 15 hours per week will be dedicated to worship leadership, with the remaining hours devoted to another ministry area, such as children, youth, families, administration, or discipleship.

We are open to shaping the additional ministry responsibilities around the strengths of the individual God leads to serve alongside us.

Our Worship Ministry

Cedar Valley has a traditional worship style centered on hymns, familiar choruses, and congregational singing. Our adult choir is an important part of our church's identity, and we desire a leader who will strengthen and develop this ministry.

We are looking for someone who appreciates traditional worship while helping us thoughtfully incorporate additional instruments, such as guitar, and develop a team of musicians and vocalists.

The Worship Leader will:

• Plan and lead congregational worship for Sunday morning services in coordination with the Senior Pastor.
• Lead and develop the adult choir, conduct and prepare the choir to sing special music during Sunday morning worship several times a month.
• Recruit, equip, and develop musicians and vocalists to strengthen the church's worship ministry.
• Plan and coordinate music for special worship services and seasonal events, including an annual Christmas Cantata and special music for Easter Sunday.
• Lead worship for Wednesday evening Bible study.
• Encourage congregational participation and create opportunities for church members to use their musical gifts.

Additional Ministry Opportunities

The remaining hours of this full-time position will be dedicated to an additional area of ministry based on the candidate's gifts and calling, as well as the needs of the church.

The individual will provide leadership for the assigned ministry, develop relationships, recruit and equip volunteers, and help create opportunities to reach people with the gospel and make disciples. Responsibilities may include other opportunities assigned by the Senior Pastor.

We are seeking someone who desires to invest in the life of our church, develop leaders, and help our congregation grow.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must:

• Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to local church ministry.

• Demonstrate strong vocal ability and the ability to confidently lead congregational worship.
• Have the musical knowledge and leadership ability necessary to direct and develop an adult choir.
• Appreciate traditional worship while being open to thoughtfully incorporating additional instruments.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Have a heart for evangelism, discipleship, and developing ministry teams.
