Purpose of the Job: 

• To oversee technical details related to broadcast equipment and video systems engineering.

 

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• Two (2) years’ experience in video production or broadcast environment
• Knowledge of lighting production
• Basic understanding of lighting design 
• Basic understanding of audio, video, and lighting systems, equipment, and concepts
• Intermediate Mac and PC proficiency 
• Familiarity with ProPresenter, Ross Dashboard, BlackMagic VideoHub, and various projector control interfaces preferred
• Familiarity with software and hardware media servers required
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills 
• Relational and team-building skills required
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve quickly

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

· Oversee day-to-day management of production video systems and equipment: 

o Troubleshooting, cleaning, and maintaining equipment & projectors

• Oversee the programming of lighting cues, creation service visuals, and operation of lighting equipment for regular weekly services and special events at the Grants Mill campus, along with attending planning meetings for each as needed
• Coordinate department training 
• Assist in the repair of damaged lighting fixtures and equipment

o Coordinating software, hardware, and firmware updates

o Loading, programming, and testing video content for services and events

· Serve as primary contact for wiring, system design, and upkeep for broadcast video system

· Assist in managing broadcast systems upgrades

· Serve as primary video technician for LED wall and processors, including daily upkeep, maintenance, repairs, operation, and troubleshooting

· Serve as primary video technician for hardware and software media server solutions, including upkeep, maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting

· Create sermon notes in graphics software for usage as lower-3rds, confidence monitor, and banner screen, for Sunday services, Wednesday services, and special events or conferences

· Oversee all Vision Carrier scheduling for services and special events 

• Nurture and maintain relationships with equipment vendors, while actively recruiting relationships with potential new vendors

· Actively research new products, equipment, and management solutions through usage of blogs, web forums, equipment manuals, publications, etc.

· Assist in post-production editing and archiving of recorded services and events

· Assist with management and organization of off-site equipment storage unit

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist other departments with production and/or production equipment support

· Assist with weekly tasks or system-wide projects as needed

· Operate production equipment or camera positions as needed during regular weekly services, retreats, conferences, and special events

· Assist with production equipment maintenance and installation at other campuses when needed

· Assist with equipment or event support as needed

· Participate in church-wide events

· Join a discipleship group

· Other duties as assigned

Extent of Public Contact:

· Daily contact with members of Production department staff

· Highlands Pastors and staff members (full-time and part-time)

· Dream Teamers and production coaches at all campuses

· Highlands College staff and students

· Outside churches through ARC and Grow networks

· Outside vendors, contractors and manufacturers

· State government officials and staff at state of Alabama correctional facilities

 

Physical Demands:

· Assist with setup or operation of production equipment as needed

· Equipment repair, maintenance, or installation at all campuses as needed

· Regular travel to Highlands Grants Mill campus for meetings

· Travel to off-site Highlands campuses or correctional facilities as needed

· Must be able to drive own vehicle

· Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
