Our Solar business delivers industry leading, U.S.-made solar components. We manufacture hyper-pure polysilicon, high-quality solar wafers, and innovative photovoltaic modules, leveraging our leadership in advanced manufacturing to serve growing energy demand. Role Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst (Finance) serves as a key finance business partner supporting Corning's Solar manufacturing operations. This individual will work closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, and site leadership to understand plant performance, manage costs, analyze financial results, and support strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate brings experience supporting a manufacturing environment and understands how operational performance impacts financial results. This includes budgeting, forecasting, cost management, manufacturing variance analysis, inventory and production-related financials, capital investment analysis, and month-end close activities.

This role is expected to operate independently, provide actionable financial insights to business leaders, and help drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with manufacturing, operations, engineering, and supply chain leaders to monitor business performance and drive financial results.
  
• Lead monthly financial reporting, analysis, and close activities for the division.
  
• Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast, identifying drivers of manufacturing, operational, and financial variances.
  
• Support plant and division leadership through cost analysis, performance reporting, and financial recommendations.
  
• Monitor spending, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and support operational decision-making.
  
• Perform analysis related to manufacturing costs, standard costing, labor, overhead, inventory, capital projects, and operational initiatives.
  
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
  
• Develop and deliver meaningful financial reporting, manufacturing KPIs, and operational performance metrics for business leaders.
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger transactions, reconciliations, and financial records.
  
• Support internal controls, SOX compliance, and internal/external audit activities.
  
• Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, reporting, and data visibility.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  
• 5+ years of finance, accounting, FP&A, cost accounting, operations finance, or plant finance experience.
  
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and business performance management.
  
• Experience supporting month-end close processes and financial statement analysis.
  
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and provide financial recommendations to business leaders.

Preferred Education and Experience

• CPA and/or CMA certification.
  
• MBA.
  
• Direct experience supporting a manufacturing facility, production site, or plant environment strongly preferred.
  
• Experience in plant finance, manufacturing finance, cost accounting, operations finance, or supply chain finance.
  
• Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, production variance analysis, labor and overhead analysis, and capital project financial analysis.
  
• Experience supporting financial operations within a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills

• Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to identify, investigate, and explain financial variances.
  
• Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, financial statements, and financial controls.
  
• Experience supporting financial close, forecasting, budgeting, and business performance analysis.
  
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  
• Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
  
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and other reporting tools.

Desired Skills

• Working knowledge of financial systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, FAR, MES, Khalix, PeopleSoft Procurement, and PeopleSoft Supply Chain.
  
• Strong understanding of general ledger systems, reconciliations, financial controls, and close processes.
  
• Experience improving finance processes, reporting efficiency, and data visibility.
  
• Ability to partner effectively with operations and business leaders in a manufacturing environment.
  
• Ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights for management.
• Experience supporting cost reduction initiatives, operational improvement efforts, and capital investment decisions.
  
• Strong customer focus and ability to build relationships across manufacturing, operations, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams.

M-F, 40 hour work week with additional hours as needed.

The range for this position is $79,709.00 - $109,600.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
