Requisition Number: 27417 Required Travel: 11 - 25% Employment Type: Full Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt Anticipated Salary Range: $52,507.00 - $64,542.00 Security Clearance: Ability to Obtain Level of Experience: Mid Summary We are seeking a Quality Inspector to assist with fleet support at our Chesapeake Location. The selected candidate will support the Carrier/ESU Team working on Aircraft Carriers and surface ships for continuous support throughout the fleet on various equipment including Aircraft, Weapons and Stores Elevators. What You Will Do Display levels of quality, integrity, safety, respect, engagement and performance consistent with company values. Assist in the development and implementation of program quality testing and inspection plans, maintenance procedures, formal work packages, process control procedures and quality assurance workbooks in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual, TS9090-310 and NAVSEA standard items. Audit work‑in‑process to determine if product specifications are met and ensure conformance to established company and regulatory standards. Assist in the development and use of technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports. Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies and data related to production. Investigate problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interface with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met. Recommend corrective actions, dispositions, process optimization and modifications. May work directly with customers or customer representatives, attend meetings and deploy for special projects. Maintain effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel. What You Must Have High School with 5 years relevant experience or Associate's Degree with 3 years relevant experience. May require certification. Strong verbal and written communication skills; will manage and resolve Quality Assurance issues with customers, senior managers and internal employees. Proficient with computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; will develop technical work documents and complete quality reports. Must be able to obtain base access credentials within the first 60 days of hire and maintain them throughout employment. Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance. Reliable form of transportation to travel to multiple work sites. Must be able to travel; possible travel 20%. Must be a U.S. citizen. Bonus Points For Experience working in Naval Shipyards or Military Facilities. Maintenance and repair experience on NAVSEA contracts. Experience distributing and managing various training programs. Ability to read and interpret ship Installation Drawings and Liaison Action Requests (LARs). Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items, TS9090-310 Navy Modernization Program Management and Operations Manual, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual and Quality Assurance Workbooks. Experience installing or inspecting the installation of systems/equipment onboard marine vessels. Experience with electrical and equipment installation on marine vessels. Experience with structural related system installation, including welding, structural fit‑up, installation standards and NDT knowledge. Previous NDT certification. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes (no less than 30 lbs). Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. May ride ships at sea for extended periods, wear a respirator, and travel within and outside of the continental United States.
