Certified Nursing Assistant - 32 Hours, Days - Geri Psych (BMC South)

Schedule 32 Hours, Evenings, Every Other Weekend, Part‑Time, Benefit Eligible Unit / Location Unit: Geri Psych, Location: BMC South Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned, performs a variety of direct patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient. Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly as well as accommodating a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential victims of abuse. Incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, exceptional care and the hospital's values and mission into performance of job duties. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Required Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of medical terminology. Effective communication in English with staff and patients. Ability to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timeliness and provide exceptional patient care. Compassionate, empathetic and responsive to the needs of a variety of patients. Education High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience Previous experience as a nursing assistant preferred. Certification / Licensure Must possess a valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or show proof of enrollment in an accredited nursing school and completion of the courses "Fundamentals of Nursing I & II". BLS from American Heart Association required. Software / Hardware Computer experience is preferred. CPR. Compensation Range $18.15 – $26.97 (range includes education, experience, licensure/certifications).
