Cardiothoracic Radiologist - Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (Tucson, AZ)

Your Responsibilities

As a Cardiothoracic Radiologist within the Radiology Service, your duties will include:

• Interpreting chest radiographs, CT scans, MRIs, and fluoroscopic examinations with a focus on cardiothoracic conditions.

• Providing prompt and precise reports while communicating critical findings directly to referring providers.

• Engaging in multidisciplinary tumor boards, peer reviews, and quality management initiatives.

• Assisting in the education of residents and technologists, reviewing pre-procedure labs, and developing study protocols.

• Maintaining thorough and up-to-date clinical records in compliance with VA regulations.

QualificationsRequired

• Must be a U.S. citizen (non-citizens may be considered only if qualified citizens cannot be recruited as per VA policy).

• MD or DO degree from a VA-approved institution.

• A current, full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency program (approved by the VA Secretary).

Preferred

• Board Certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology.

• Extensive experience in cardiothoracic imaging or a recent fellowship in Cardiothoracic Imaging.

• Capability to interpret multi-specialty examinations, radiographs, and perform fluoroscopy.

• Experience in teaching residents or fellows.
