Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days/Evenings | 4x10-Hour Shifts | Monday through Friday | Start times range between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM depending on scheduling and operational needs. On-call availability on weekends may be required (approximately 1–2 weekend call shifts per assignment, day or night based on department needs).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care to a varied surgical patient population in a PACU setting
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures, identifying and responding to changes in condition
• Recognize and respond to telemetry findings including lethal cardiac rhythms and heart blocks
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe patient transitions through the perioperative continuum
• Float to other units as needed based on departmental operational requirements
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using electronic health record systems

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum of two years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last three years in PACU or a related specialty
• Critical care background required
• American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with 100% identification of lethal rhythms; maximum of three attempts permitted)
• Travelers must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with varied surgical patient populations across multiple service lines
• Familiarity with telemetry interpretation, including third-degree heart blocks and pediatric rhythms
