Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Tele Intermediate Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Illinois license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Negative drug screen required Description: This position involves patient care in a Tele Intermediate Stepdown unit. The nurse will work with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 or 1:5. Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope. Nursing will not mix medications, as pharmacy support is available 24/7. The unit does not handle vents but does utilize BiPAP and CPAP. There is no call requirement, but weekend work is expected every other weekend. Nurses will float to other areas as needed and will maintain the same patient ratio. The nursing staff will participate in a structured orientation process. All staff must adhere to a drug-free policy.
