TERM Therapist I/II (Jail Addiction Services), Grade 23/24

Please note: The salary range above represents this position’s earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be as follows based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. If filled at the Therapist I, Grade 23, the hiring range is $78,929 - $104,975. If filled at the Therapist II, Grade 24,thehiring range is $82,352 - $121,952. This is a term position budgeted through June 30, 2027. Continued employment beyond this date is subject to extension of funding and is not guaranteed.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Jail Addictions Services is seeking an enthusiastic term therapist who is passionate about working with youthful offenders, who believes in the power of therapeutic services to inspire growth and healing. Join our dynamic team and be a part of a mission driven group of professionals, dedicated to providing trauma informed mental health services to incarcerated youth. As a Licensed Therapist working with youth in a correctional setting, you will play a pivotal role in supporting their emotional and psychological well-being. This position will focus on helping young individuals navigate challenges, process trauma and develop the skills necessary for rehabilitation and reintegration into society. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable youth in a structured, secure environment. Provide individual and group therapy sessions. Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for incarcerated Adolescents. Use Trauma informed and culturally responsive approaches to address emotional regulation and develop coping skills. Collaborate with team & Correctional staff to provide comprehensive care and advocacy. Document in electronic health records client progress. Follow directions in a professional manner; prepare reports and document client services in a timely and professional manner. The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug screening, and a background check through the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation. Therapist I Level: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in clinical or counselling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related Behavioral science field. Experience: None License Requirement: One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held, and maintained by, the employee: Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW). Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC); or Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT). Driver's License Required: Possession and maintenance at all times of a: Valid Class C (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence when required for job-related duties. Therapist II Level: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related behavioral science field. Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience rendering therapeutic counseling, social work, nursing or psychology services, as pertinent to one’s professional licensing. License Requirement: One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held prior to appointment of, and maintained by, the employee: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC); Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapy (LCMFT); Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC); Licensed Certified Social Worker/Clinical (LCSW-C); Licensed Registered Nurse in the United States, certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Psychiatric Menta l Health Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland; or Licensed Psychologist Driver's License Required: Possession and maintenance at all times of a: Valid Class C (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence when required for job-related duties. Preference for interview will be given to qualified candidates with experience in the following areas: Experience in working with troubled youth and their families Experience in conducting thorough clinical assessment and record review, with strong diagnostic skill.
