Lead Designer - Mapping

Responsibilities Guide a team of design personnel to efficiently meet overall project objectives and review the work of others to ensure standards of quality are met. Recommend work methods, techniques, and procedures and take part in work scheduling, setting priorities, and completion dates. Provide metrics for recurring reports. Monitor and track progress of design projects and communicate status to partners. Assist Design Leaders, Supervisors, Project Managers and Engineers with scope, schedule and budget definition for new projects requiring design and drafting activities. Act as a primary contact between internal and external business partners to establish upfront expectations, assignment criteria, progress reporting, and general communication. Requirements High school diploma/GED and Technical School with CADD Certificate or equivalent experience. Minimum of 10 years of drafting experience with 5 years focused on independent design assignments. 5 years in roles that required leading multiple project efforts with less experienced designers and drafters in the energy, oil & gas, or utilities industry. Bachelor's degree preferred and 15 years of drafting experience with 10 years focused on independent design assignments. Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
