Contract Administrator
Location: Lawrence, MA (Hybrid)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to support commercial contracting activities and manage the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, redlining, updating, negotiating, and executing agreements. This role will partner closely with Legal, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Strategic Accounts, Customer Service, and other internal stakeholders to ensure contracts are completed accurately and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have strong contract administration experience, excellent organizational and project management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This individual will play a key role in reducing contract backlogs, managing renewals and expirations, and ensuring agreements reflect current business terms and pricing.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including contract creation, review, execution, renewals, amendments, and expirations.
- Draft, review, redline, and update commercial contracts and related documents.
- Coordinate contract approvals and ensure agreements move through the contract management process in a timely and accurate manner.
- Lead contract renewal, extension, and transition efforts.
- Track contract status, maintain contract logs, and monitor expired agreements.
- Support initiatives to reduce contract backlogs and transition short-term agreements into valid long-term contracts.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into contractual agreements.
- Work closely with Legal, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Strategic Accounts, Customer Service, Reimbursement, Credit, and other departments to support contract development and updates.
- Prepare supporting analyses and reports as needed.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date contract records.
- Assist with government bids, distributor relationships, regional and national accounts, joint ventures, and other special projects.
- Lead assigned projects and provide guidance to other team members as needed.
- Develop familiarity with internal systems and tools used to support contract administration activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in contract management, contract administration, business administration, sales administration, finance, or a related field.
- Experience managing contracts throughout the full lifecycle.
- Strong contract drafting, redlining, and document management experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity with limited direction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with PowerPoint and contract management systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated industries.
- Paralegal experience.
- Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions.
- Familiarity with Safe Harbor and Sherman Anti-Trust regulations.
- Experience working within a highly matrixed organization.
