AssemblerThis role involves assembling window units and building wooden frames to prepare products for installation in residential settings. You will work either on a fast-paced assembly line installing components and weather stripping or in the mulling department constructing frames with power tools. The position is physically active, requires consistent attention to detail, and plays a key part in ensuring finished windows meet quality and safety standards.ResponsibilitiesWork on an assembly line to install components and weather stripping into windows with consistent speed and accuracy.Ensure all window seals are tight and properly fitted to meet quality standards.Use small hand tools to complete assembly tasks safely and efficiently.Stand for the full 10-hour shift while performing repetitive assembly operations that depend on team coordination.In the mulling department, build wooden frames around windows to prepare them for direct installation into homes.Operate power tools and nail guns to construct and secure frames according to specifications.Work independently in the mulling area while maintaining productivity and quality output.Read and use a tape measure to take accurate measurements for assembly and frame construction.Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of required eye protection and proper attire.Assist with general production, packaging, and packing tasks as needed to support overall workflow.Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and materials responsibly.Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth production and address any issues promptly.Essential SkillsMinimum of 6+ months of previous experience in assembly, construction, landscaping, packaging, or general labor for assembly work.Minimum of 6+ months of experience using hand tools.Minimum of 6+ months of construction, carpentry, or industrial assembly experience for mulling work.Minimum of 6+ months of experience using power tools for mulling work.Ability to read a tape measure (required for mulling and considered a plus for assembly).Comfort using hand and power tools, including nail guns, in a production environment.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks while standing for extended periods.Reliability in working full 10-hour shifts and supporting team-based production.Basic understanding of general production and packaging processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with general labor, construction, or industrial environments is highly beneficial.Background in landscaping or packaging can support success in the assembly department.Familiarity with tape measures and basic measurement practices improves accuracy and efficiency.Ability to work independently in the mulling department while meeting production goals.Attention to detail when installing weather stripping and ensuring tight seals.Willingness to learn and adapt to on-the-job training and new tasks.Strong work ethic and commitment to safety and quality standards.Why Work Here?You will benefit from on-the-job training that helps you build valuable hands-on skills in a production environment. The facility operates as a production environment where employees stand for 10-hour days and perform continuous assembly or mulling tasks. The temperature can be warm during the summer months, so comfort with working in a non-climate-controlled setting is important. Employees receive two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch break during each shift. Closed-toe tennis shoes or work boots are required; steel-toed boots are not required. Jeans are required, and shorts and cut-off shirts are not permitted. Safety glasses are provided and required, and ear protection is provided and optional. You will regularly work with hand tools, power tools, nail guns, and other general production equipment in a busy, structured environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hayfield, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
