Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian to join our team in West Salem, Oregon. The ideal candidate will provide high‑quality veterinary care, communicate effectively with clients and staff, and work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient examinations and medical work‑ups. Communicate and educate clients regarding diagnoses and treatment plans. Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgery. Maintain accurate medical records. Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols. Promote teamwork and staff efficiency. Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations. Evaluate and monitor daily hospital protocols from intake to discharge. Attend daily rounds to ensure highest standards are upheld. Participate in practice management updates and training. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications (Required) At least 18 years of age. Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution. Current State Veterinary License. DEA registration. Minimum 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice. Strong diagnostic, clinical, surgical, and dental skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment. Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to perform moderately demanding tasks. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Clinical expertise in comprehensive physical examinations. Problem‑solving and process improvement skills. Business acumen related to veterinary practice management. Professionalism and constructive feedback culture. Commitment to continuing education and mentoring. Knowledge of ethical principles guiding veterinary decisions.
